Tour Point
Only the history of winners can be spotlighted anytime. However, losers also sometimes gained a monstrous power and created a haunting legacy in the hidden history. In Kamakura era, people strongly believed that samurai or aristocrats who died during wars became "Onryo", and spelled large disasters. Even winners were scared of Onryo's vengeance. To appease the wrath of Onryo, winners created shrines where losers were enshrined. There are some great Onryo in Japan. One of them is Prince Moriyoshi. He was a real son of the Emperor, and the exceptional strategist in fighting. He led the Emperor’s army to the great victory. Even though, after the war, he was entrapped by a scheme of his political rival. He was captured, jailed and finally assassinated in Kamakura. You can visit the tomb of Prince Moriyoshi, and also the first Shogun Minamoto-no-Yoritomo. We also introduce many other interesting places and episodes hidden in a traditional and beautiful city, Kamakura. Professional English-speaking licensed guide who is conversant with Kamakura will guide you in this tour.
